| Customer Reviews: Okay Product, but why so EXPENSIVE????!!!! June 17, 2005 Mr. Joe V. Ryckebosch 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Hey, I love Chartpak graphic tape, I live for the stuff. Especially the older border tapes which Chartpak used to make. These tapes came in a dizzying array of colors, not just white, blue, green, red, and yellow. There was light blue, orange, grey, silver, burgundy, etc... and they were all available in flat matte, and crepe, not just glossy. What happened to those? They are becoming increasingly difficult to find these days. The only place I have been able to locate them is on Ebay, and they are few and far between, if even existent at all.
This blister pack of 6 Chartpak Deco Tapes is an okay product, but also very overpriced and limited in quantity. I have purchased a few packs on Ebay for well under the $13 retail price. I just wish there was a bigger selection of tape, in more colors and different finishes like flat and crepe. The glossy becomes annoying after a while, and the tape runs out before you know it. Chartpak also offers these tapes in the same packaging, but with gold, silver, and glossy black. They are the same price as the colored tapes, but seem to have less tape on each roll. At any rate, Chartpak is a great company, but they need to re-think this product, offer more options, and lower the damn price. It's just tape for Chrissakes!
High quality decorative tape, overpriced (due to lack of availability?) October 8, 2009 David B. Spalding (Chromejob-dot-com) Chartpak's Deco-Tape is good for decorating prop replicas. Just used some red (with some wood stain from a pen to darken and matte it down) tape on a DS9 "Hard Time" phaser replica (go to yourprops dot com, look for Interociter's gallery). Previously, I've used the gold and silver foil tapes on other replicas. Though tricky to work with such a thin tape, some patience, wax paper, tweezers make all the difference. I agree with the other article, I wish this wasn't sold for such a high price.
Store your rolls in Ziploc bags, laid flat in a protective container.
